Well, beside that there are also the unique and historical places to visit in Bali. Here today I would like to inform to you one of the historical place in Bali and you have to visit it. Here is it!
Taman Pujaan Bangsa Margarana National Monument or Taman Pahlawan Margarana located in Kelaci Village, Marga district, Tabanan regency, Bali. Distanced around 35 meters km from Kuta, and can be reached around 1 hour of journey. Or if you are in the middle of journey to Bedugul, you can isit this monument first.
This monument was wstablished in1954, eight years after heroic occurrence of puputan Margarana. It was inaugurated by the government as Taman Pahlawan Pujaan Bangsa that has a total area of about 25 hectares which can accommodate around 1.342 gravestone of Indonesian Independence War Hero in Bali.This monument is a silent witness of Puputan Margarana War occurrence on November 20, 1946.
It built with Tri Mandala concept which are upstream, midstream, and downstream. While you entering this garden, you will see the inscription that consist many names of heroes that buried in this Margarana Garden (Taman Pahlawan). They are national heroes under the leadership of I Gusti Ngurah Rai in Puputan Margarana war.
Entering upstream part, there is ceremony yard and two resting halls for every visititor once they would like to take some rest. In the yard, we will also see Panca Bakti statue which described people’s unity and integrity on independence war. This part of area called Taman Karya Alam.
Entering the midstream area, there is a temple or Pahlawan Margarana Monument that stands majestically as high 17 meters, with 8 levels of roofs, there is also pentagon foundation that symbolize Indonesian Republic proclamation on Agustus 17, 1945. On this temple is also carved as structured and consist of response letter of I Gusti Ngurai Rai to Dutch. That letter described the greatness of soul and patriotism Indonesia nation which refuse to obey NICA.
In the upstream part or north and also north east part of this Taman Pahlwan Margarana there is a Taman Bahagia. Here you can found thousands tiny monuments (like gravestones) which is a symbol of heroes that fall in this Puputan War. Inside this area there is a grave stones of unknown heroes.
On this Taman Pujaan Bangsa Margarana, there is also a historical building. This building is located on the eastern part of Candi Pahlawan Margarana. This buiding saves numbers of historical relics on the war at that time. Those hictorical relics are such as weapon spoils from NICA, communication tool, camouflage equipment, medical kit, etc.
