Hello Guys! Hope you have a wonderful day. Bali has so many tourist attraction that already famous and continuously visited by tourists. But beside the beautiful beaches and the luxury resort in Bali. Bali also has unique culture ( festival , ceremony) . If you want to learn something new and interesting then you will love to read about this. Well here is it!
Bali have many culture and one of them is Kecak dance. This dance is different with other dance because usually they use Gamelan as a musical accompaniment but Kecak was originally a song or music that is resultant from a combination sounds that make up melodies that are usually used to accompany the sacred dance Sanghyang.
The performance is called a ‘Kecak dance’, an onomatopoeic title for the sound of the chant. It’s based on a traditional Balinese ritual but was actually created by a German man in the 1930s. Thirty or so bare chested Indonesian men sitting on the ground in a circle – and in the middle the drama is unfolding.“Cak-a, cak-a, cak-a, cak-a”, and on… the chant goes until the show is over. The story of Kecak dance itself is the story of Ramayana.
It’s complicated plot, with enough twists and turns to be worthy of a television series. But in essence it is the story of a woman who is stolen from her husband (a prince) by a demon. The narrative follows the challenges and tasks the young prince and his brother must overcome to rescue her.
As the sun sets during the performance, and the sky darkens, the story builds to a climax – a moment when a monkey king sets fire to a castle. With the orange flames and embers in the middle of the stage, it’s a dramatic moment . In Bali there are several place to watch Kecak dance such as Batubulan , Uluwatu, Etc.
